SERIES PACK PICK UP

Beat the event day queues (or at least queue in the warm and dry....!), save yourself some time on event morning and pick up your race number and Series Pack ahead of the day.

Pre event collection nights will be:

Tuesday 14th May : Total Sport Office, 26B Tarndale Grove, Rosedale : 4-7pm
Wednesday 15th May : Macpac Newmarket, 255 Broadway, Newmarket : 4-7pm

No need to print anything off, all we need for collection is your name! You are also welcome to collect for friends and family to save them a job on event day.

SERIES POINTS

For all our competitive trail runner and walkers, to be eligible to win the Auckland Trail Series, you must participate in a minimum of 5 events in the same distance option. The person with the lowest accumulated time over 5 events will be the winner! If you come to all 6 events you can ditch your worst result, giving you a good advantage in the overall series.

The points system will be simply done on your time behind the winner (in your distance/gender/age group). So in any given event, the winner in each age category will score zero, and then everyone else will ‘score' the time they were behind the winner.

All participants will gather points throughout the Series whether you are a "Series Entrant" or have entered the races Individually.

Following the Series, we will have a very relaxed prize giving and celebration where everyone is welcome to have a drink to celebrate another great Auckland Trail Run & Walk Series, and to acknowledge the Series winners in each category

TEAMS CHALLENGE

IMPORTANT TEAMS INFORMATION

The Macpac Auckland Trail Run & Walk Series Teams Challenge is open to any group of people (corporate, mates, training group, school, family etc.) as long as you have a minimum of five people (no limit) running at each event of the series.

Stay fit over winter, get out of the concrete jungle and discover some of Auckland's most stunning trail-running spots, hang out with your mates and build staff morale and loyalty. It's as social or competitive as you want it to be and distance options cater for all levels.

HOW THE TEAM CHALLENGE WORKS

Enter at least 5 team members or more (there is no limit to the number of team members) into each individual event of the series or the same team members into the full series

Team members can run (all distance options) or walk (short or mid) whichever distance option they want to

No matter how many of the team compete on the day, your top 5 points across all distance options will be put towards your leader board score over all 6 events.

HOW THE POINTS SYSTEM WORKS

We apply a factor to individual results to make them fair when used as team results. The multiplication factor will depend on what distance option you did. The following factors will be used to work out your team points:

  • 1/4 for Super Long run (based on average winning time approx. 2 hours)

  • 1/3 for Long run (based on average winning time approx. 1.5 hours)

  • 1/2 for the Mid run/walk (based on average winning time approx. 1 hour)

  • 1 for the Short run/walk (based on average winning time of approx. 30 mins)

(i.e. this is what your individual points will be multiplied by to give you your team's points. So, in the example above. Short course runner: 3.00 x 1 = 3.00. Super long runner: 12.00 x ¼ = 3.00)

The teams' points for each of the 6 rounds will be calculated by adding up the best 5 individual team scores from the team members in each team. The overall winning team will then be the team with the lowest total score when all 6 rounds scores are added together at the end of the series.

Note: If you are running as part of a team, you are still eligible for individual placings for the series, providing you stay in the same distance option over at least 5 events.

HOW TO REGISTER YOUR TEAM

You will need to 'Create a Group' on the first page of the registration system. Once the group has been set up, share the unique link with your group members and they will automatically be added to your team. If registering on the day of the event, please write the team name on the registration form.

If you have already registered and would like to be added to a team, please email Registrations with your first, last name and the team name.

PAYMENT OPTIONS

Each team member can pay individually when they register or you/the school/the company pays for all registration fees. If you/the school/the company pays for all registration fees, you have the option of paying for the full amount by credit card in your group/team registration or we can invoice you for the full amount.

Please contact us if you have any questions.

SCHOOL TEAMS

We have many schools using the series as their NZEA assessment. It is the perfect platform to assess their improvement over the 6 events (5 months) or to assess each student in the class at an individual event. Each student wears their own timing transponder. After the event, the teacher is able to look up each student on our timing website for each student's results. We can provide the NZEA guidelines of which standard your students will have achieved.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

👉 Online registrations will close at 10am the Friday before event day - or when sold out 👈

When you get to the Event Base on the Sunday morning, just head to one of the following places to pick up your race number and timing chip:

FULL 6 EVENT SERIES ENTRANTS - PRE REGISTERED

If you've entered the whole Auckland Trail Run & Walk Series, on the morning of the your first event, simply head to your own Series Entrant Registration Tent. Your name and race number are on the Series Board in front of the black tent and you help yourself to your race number with attached timing transponder.

Once you’ve picked up your Series Bib this is then yours to look after for the rest of the series, you need to remember to bring it with you to each event.

If you're changing distance this weekend speak to the Total Sport staff member in your tent who will give you a new race number/transponder for your new distance. We recommend checking into this area at least 45 minutes prior to your scheduled start time.

INDIVIDUAL EVENT + 3 EVENT PASS ENTRANTS - PRE REGISTERED

If you've only entered one/a few of the events, please head to the Pre-Registered area to collect your event bib and timing transponder. Our team will split the registrations alphabetically by surname e.g. A to G, H to O & P to Z. We recommend checking into this area at least 45 minutes prior to your scheduled start time.

We will be awarding trophies to Male/Female Age Group winners in each category and of course our Team Challenge winners! But prize giving is not all about the winners, come along and grab a beer or a bite to eat, and catch up with your extended Auckland Trail Series family!

WHEN:TBC
WHERE: The Good Home, Mt Eden
TIME: We’ll kick off proceedings at 6:30pm, but you are welcome to get in any time to grab a drink and/or dinner!
