WHERE DO I COLLECT MY SERIES PACK?

Please see Series Pack pick up information here

I HAVE ENTERED AN AUCKLAND TRAIL RUN & WALK SERIES EVENT, IS THERE ANYTHING I NEED TO DO BEFORE THE EVENT DAY?

Nothing, apart from training and reading your pre-event email which will arrive the week leading up to the event.

The Auckland Trail Series events are structured to be as effective with your time as possible. So registration (picking up your race number) is done before your event on Sunday morning (open from 1.5 hrs before your race start), and all you need to register is your name, so don't worry about printing and bringing along your online confirmation..

CAN I INCREASE/CHANGE MY DISTANCE OPTION THROUGHOUT THE SERIES?

Yes, you sure can. If you changing for a one-off event, please see the registration team on the morning of the event before your run/walk and they will issue you with a new race bib. If you are changing for the rest of the series flick us an email at registrations@totalsport.co.nz. (Remember if you are interested in series points you must do 5 events in the same distance option)

I PLAN ON WALKING MOST OF THE COURSE, AND JOGGING SOME BITS WHEN I FEEL GOOD - DO I ENTER AS A WALKER OR RUNNER?

You enter as a runner. The walking category is for people who are going to walk 100% of the course, and these people want to gauge themselves against other people that walk only.

I AM INJURED AND CANNOT DO ONE OF THE EVENTS, WHAT CAN I DO?

Please get in touch with us at least 7 days before your event and we will credit your entry fee (less a $20 admin fee) towards any Total Sport event in the next 12 months. You cannot transfer your entry to another person. Please email registrations@totalsport.co.nz.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I HAVE ENTERED THE SERIES BUT CAN'T CONTINUE WITH THE SERIES?

As per the waiver, you cannot transfer your entry to another person, however, we can credit the proportionate amount of the remaining events (needs to be 2+ events) in the Series (less the cost of the Series Pack and a $20 admin fee) – please email registrations@totalsport.co.nz.

I HAVE ENTERED THE SERIES BUT CAN'T MAKE THE ODD EVENT FOR WHATEVER REASON, WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS?

As per above if you are injured and cannot complete the reminder of the series, we can issue you a credit for the remaining events – please email registrations@totalsport.co.nz. However no credit will be given if you simply can't make it to the odd event.

HOW DO THE SERIES POINTS WORK?

The points system is simply done on your time behind the winner (in your distance/gender/age group). So in any given event, the winner in each age category will score zero, and then everyone else will ‘score' the time they were behind the winner.

To be eligible to win the series you must participate in at least 5 events (in the same distance option); the person with the lowest accumulated time over 5 events being the winner! That's right - your best 5 results count, so if you come to all 6 events you can ditch your worst result, giving you a good advantage in the over-all series.

WHAT ARE THE AGE GROUP CATEGORIES?

  • Junior - Under 13

  • Teens - 13 to 19 years

  • Open - 20 to 39 years

  • Master - 40 to 49 years

  • Vet - 50 to 59 years

  • Legend - 60 to 69 years

  • Unstoppables - 70+

ARE THERE AGE LIMITS FOR THESE EVENTS?

Yes there are. View the AGE LIMITS section on the event info page for more info.

HOW DOES PRIZE GIVING WORK DURING THIS SERIES?

We know your time is important, so we do not keep you hanging around for a prize giving at each event. Instead what we do is give away our awesome stash of spot prizes randomly as people cross the line.

Following the Macpac Auckland Trail Run & Walk Series, we will have a very relaxed prize giving night at a local bar, where everyone is welcome to have a drink to celebrate another great Series, and to acknowledge the Series winners in each category.

CAN I BRING MY DOG (ON A LEAD)?

Unfortunately dogs are now prohibited from running with you on course during the events.

Whilst we LOVE our four legged friends dearly, they can cause a hazard for other participants and the safety of everyone must be our primary focus.

However, some locations (as below) do allow them at Event Base. So feel free to bring them along, as long as they've got someone to look after them whilst you run.

Friendly dogs (on a lead) are welcome at: Riverhead Forest and Waiuku Forest.

WHAT SHOULD MY MANDATORY EQUIPMENT LIST CONSIST OF FOR THE HUNUA RANGES EVENT?

  • Survival blanket

  • Waterproof seam sealed jacket

  • Gloves (polyprop or wool)
